El president is a story about one brilliant Filipino General who bravely stood against foreign countries who wants to colonize and dominate Philippines freedom and sovereignty. This movie also shows where the Republic of the Philippines has been through as well as the important individuals to be grateful for, for the independence that Philippines has now. The film was inspired by “Memoirs of the Revolution” by General Emilio Famy Aguinaldo.

At first I thought watching the movie was a waste of time because I find it boring and senseless but not after I watched it, I was surprised and thrilled about the film, not just because it is part of our history but because of the story itself and how it was shown through its cinematography which I really enjoyed.

Upon watching the movie, it makes me feel excited with each scene I see because it is precisely what I already knew for the reason that it is what we are discussing recently on our Philippine History with Politics and Governance Class. I also enjoy the movie because of the production design and the casting which I thought was amazing, each of them portrayed their roles effectively and impressively.

Few realization after watching the film, since it was just inspired by the “Memoirs of the Revolution” written by General Emilio Aguinaldo himself, Is it really all that has happened in the past? I just felt bad for Supremo, Andres Bonifacio, for what happened for him in the movie, he started the revolution, and based on the film it didn’t ended up for what he deserves.

Whatever it is that happened in the past, It just made me realize, the result it gave us, independence, wherein we as a Filipino must and should really be proud, responsible, respectful and grateful for.

I love travelling, I like to see different places to be able to know and experience what is in there, but as a student, I do not have all the means to be able to go to places where I wanted to, luckily not all destinations require a lot of costs to be able to visit them. Here is one of it, Manila, Particularly at Luneta.

At the last day of January 2015, as part of our class activity, we went to Luneta and at the National Museum of the Filipino People to understand more about what happened in the past, in related to our course program, Philippine History and Governance.

Let me share you some things we have seen in there and hopefully this blog could give you an idea to also experience what we have experienced there because it was indeed enjoyable.

We started at the Luneta Park, it was a big park were in you could get a lot of relaxation and fun, what is good about it is, it was for free or there is no entrance fee for you to be able to visit. Aside from the famous monument of Dr. Jose Rizal, our country's national hero, there are a lot more things to see in this park.

Walking in this park was indeed enjoyable together with my friends but if you are a loner it could still be enjoyable because of the ambiance and the beautiful sights.

Some of you may think that walking in the park looks boring but Rizal Park could give you a lot more. If you think walking is tiring and boring, you could ride a train for only 50 php which could give you a slow and relaxing ride that will circle around the whole park. You can also try the “kalesa” or carriage, a ride pulled by a horse lastly you can also enjoy the beautiful lights and fountain show at the park for free.

Walking distance after the park is the National Museum for the Filipino people, a museum where almost all of country’s artifacts, relicts and treasures are preserved and presented for everyone who is interested, it is also for free but every sundays only, in there you can see the rich culture and beautiful past of Philippines.

Maybe you are feeling bored reading all this blog so I will just let the pictures tell you the experience we got from our adventure at the museum.

These are only glimpse of what you can see at the museum, if you want to see more you need to visit the museum and I am telling you it was worth it.

That day had been a long day for me and my friends but it was all worth it, at first I thought going to parks and museums was boring and not so enjoyable but going there together with a good company of joyful friends made my adventure an enjoyable and unforgettable one.
