El president is a story about one brilliant Filipino General who bravely stood against foreign countries who wants to colonize and dominate Philippines freedom and sovereignty. This movie also shows where the Republic of the Philippines has been through as well as the important individuals to be grateful for, for the independence that Philippines has now. The film was inspired by “Memoirs of the Revolution” by General Emilio Famy Aguinaldo.

At first I thought watching the movie was a waste of time because I find it boring and senseless but not after I watched it, I was surprised and thrilled about the film, not just because it is part of our history but because of the story itself and how it was shown through its cinematography which I really enjoyed.

Upon watching the movie, it makes me feel excited with each scene I see because it is precisely what I already knew for the reason that it is what we are discussing recently on our Philippine History with Politics and Governance Class. I also enjoy the movie because of the production design and the casting which I thought was amazing, each of them portrayed their roles effectively and impressively.

Few realization after watching the film, since it was just inspired by the “Memoirs of the Revolution” written by General Emilio Aguinaldo himself, Is it really all that has happened in the past? I just felt bad for Supremo, Andres Bonifacio, for what happened for him in the movie, he started the revolution, and based on the film it didn’t ended up for what he deserves.

Whatever it is that happened in the past, It just made me realize, the result it gave us, independence, wherein we as a Filipino must and should really be proud, responsible, respectful and grateful for.
